Accounts Payable Associate (Maternity Coverage)

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Associate. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Finance team with assigned projects. This role is a 6-month long contract.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Associate. This individual will be responsible for assisting the Finance team with assigned projects. This role is a 6-month long contract.

What would you be doing?

  • Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Processing of various types of invoices from different countries including invoices for raw materials, rent, utilities, legal fees etc. Invoices will include multiple currencies and have different sales tax implications.
  • Ensuring invoices are billed to correct company and address
  • Liaising with vendors via email and phone to clarify any queries, request invoices, payment discrepancies etc.
  • Work with employees to ensure that invoices are fully approved and allocated to the relevant cost centres and company.
  • Processing of various monthly employee expenses paid for via corporate credit card
  • Assist with month end bank reconciliation queries regarding missing transactions etc relating to accounts payable invoices
  • Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances
  • Maintain accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.
  • Maintains historical records by copying and filing documents.

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelors or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or similar field 
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in Accounts Payable in a corporate setting 
  • Passionate and high on energy
  • Good communication (over the phone and emails) and effective negotiation skills
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Problem solving attitude
  • Able to handle sensitive and confidential information 
  • Experience using Quickbooks
  • Experience working with vendors from the US, Australia, UK, Europe (asset)
