Area Sales Manager

What are we looking for?

As the Area Sales Manager, USA you will be responsible for overseeing all our stores in the US and helping the overall growth of retail sales in the US market.

What would you be doing?

  • Act as a main point of contact for Store Managers within the region and is responsible for the operations of a regional group of stores, staff and results, ensuring that proper store policies and procedure are followed
  • Supervises all Store Managers within their region and oversee sales, merchandising, customer experience and all operational functions
  • Recruit, manage, mentor and develop store managers and staff to maximize sales, profitability and exceed agreed key performance indicators across the region
  • Manage P&L for region
  • Schedule backfill for vacation and vacancies within the region
  • Manage and approve time and attendance system, providing operational support enter changes when required
  • Successfully develop and performance manage team members through education, coaching and guidance
  • Manage performance issues as they arise and partner with Director and/or HR as needed
  • Support store team for store events in conjunction with merchandising and communications teams to drive traffic
  • Coordinate with corporate departments on merchandising needs, keeping stores up to DECIEM standard
  • Work with Retail Operations to ensure leasehold agreements and maintenance schedules are handled appropriately to not impact store operations
  • Support maintenance of DECIEM’s visual merchandising standards according to the official merch guidelines
  • Work with all corporate departments to ensure corporate initiatives are rolled out in an effective manner
  • Communicate important corporate initiatives to team, ensuring full understanding of company objectives and vision
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or related designation is required
  • 5 + years of customer services experience is required
  • 2 + years of people management or leadership experience is required
  • Strong problem solver and negotiator which is an asset to resolving complex employee relation cases
  • Excellent follow-up skills and ability to build solid collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrates well-developed business acumen and understands how to implement/manage change
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize work
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task a must
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines
  • Strong leadership skills to coach and mentor employees as well as counsel managers at retail level
