What are we looking for?

This role is responsible for the creation, design, evaluation, planning, maintenance, communication and education of Deciem’s Total Rewards programs and policies that directly support the strategies, values and principles of Deciem. The goal is to deliver a market competitive and disruptive Total Rewards experience to attract, develop, engage, and retain top talent. This role leads Total Rewards, Performance Management and HR reporting and analytics for Deciem and is a global role, based in Toronto.

What would you be doing?

  • Lead the Total Rewards function and strategy including:
  • Create a Total Rewards strategy and philosophy that is aligned with the overall HR strategy and Deciem’s long term goals.
  • Create and maintain a Global Compensation Framework for Deciem including a job evaluation system with appropriate levels, salary bands and total rewards details.
  • Create and maintain our Global Benefits Program and initiatives
  • Research best practices and recommend and implement initiatives such as tuition reimbursement, relocation and recognition programs.
  • Monitor global market conditions and the effectiveness of existing compensation policies, guidelines and procedures. Makes strategic recommendations to ensure we are always market competitive and responding to top talent needs.
  • Manage the job evaluation process including pay equity, job creation support and job modification.
  • Collaborate with HR Director and Consultants on these exciting initiatives. Ensuring Deciem’s programs are implemented in accordance with the company's vision, mission, founding principles and strategies as well as local labour laws.
  • Manage and lead all Total Rewards projects and key initiatives to ensure quality and timely completion within budget.
  • Establish a Global Performance Review Program
  • Partner with various stakeholders (E.g. L&D) to ensure a successful launch and ongoing education for new hires and new managers
  • Partner with people managers on the performance review process including education in goal setting, setting expectations and measuring and maintaining accountability.
  • Manage the entire performance review cycle and merit increase process
  • Provide consulting support in areas of performance reviews, talent management, compensation, benefits and employee development.
  • Provide input to annual HR business plans, budgets and manages Total Rewards resources accordingly.
  • Lead the HR reporting and analytics function including:
  • Create and execute the people analytics vision and strategy across the employee lifecycle, in alignment with HR and business priorities and requirements.
  • Manage the reporting of workforce data to generate meaningful and actionable business insights that continuously drive our organization towards achieving and exceeding its vision, values and business goals.
  • Maintain the HRIS system ensuring system and data integrity.
  • Partner with business leaders and HR to develop a standard set of HR and talent key reporting and performance indicators.
  • Lead and manage the Total Rewards team, including direct report/s, supporting consultants and key partners
  • Assist in other projects/duties, as assigned

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Degree or Diploma in Human Resources and/or related field
  • CHRL, Compensation or Benefits designation preferred.
  • 8+ years relevant Total Rewards experience. Experience managing projects and a team/direct report required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the field of compensation, benefits, job analysis, administration of merit and variable pay programs and pay equity legislation.
  • Strong HR systems and data reporting and analytics experience
  • Strong problem solver, negotiator and ability to take ownership
  • Strategic thinker, with extensive ability to operationalize, leveraging excellence in time management, demonstrated ability to work well under pressure, managing conflicting priorities and tight deadlines in an unstructured environment.
  • Experience dealing with sensitive and confidential information
  • A change management champion who can successfully manage HR transformations as well as employee resistance to change.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership skills
