The HR Generalist will be responsible for the execution and delivery of day-to-day HR services. You will help identify opportunities for improving current HR processes and help create standardization and workflow.

What are we looking for?

The HR Generalist will be responsible for the execution and delivery of day-to-day HR services. The incumbent will utilize their HR experience and knowledge to identify opportunities for improving the current HR processes and help create standardization and workflow. As well, the incumbent will be the first point of contact for all employee inquiries and handle employee relations issues, escalating to the HR Manager as required. Working collaboratively with other team members and the HR Manager, the HR Generalist will provide effective strategies for recruitment and sourcing to align with the recruitment objectives for senior roles. To be successful, the individual will be one who can demonstrate understanding of the evolving HR landscape and has the capability of supporting organizational change efforts.

What would you be doing?

  • Advise and coach employees on their inquiries or issues in a timely manner and facilitate in the development of employee personal and professional growth.
  • Provide counseling and assist the HR manager in progressive discipline matters and employee relations.
  • In conjunction with the HR Coordinator/Recruiter, provide full cycle recruitment including collection of job requisitions, create and post job descriptions, coordinate and conduct interviews, conduct reference and criminal background checks, extending job offers and providing status communication to candidates and department managers.
  • Assist the HR Manager with new hire orientation to build a strong foundation for new employees and increase employee engagement and retention. Coordinate exit process for departing employees.
  • Provide accurate and up-to-date records of all HR communications and employee information.
  • Ensure application of company standards and policies are adhered to. Provide input to ensure service delivery is compliant with laws, regulations and corporate strategies.
  • Assist the HR team in the development of policies and procedures as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent diploma in Human Resources Management.
  • Minimum 2 years of full cycle recruitment experience for various roles including senior level managers, and 3 years of providing cross-functional HR related services.
  • Proven experience in areas of recruitment, sourcing and providing HR services in a production/manufacturing environment. Knowledge of GMP standards an asset.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build and develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels of staff and management.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to exercise initiative, independent judgement and be a self- starter who can work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • A strong team player who can always execute job functions with integrity and authenticity.
  • Excellent attention to detail while handling multiple competing priorities with tight deadlines.
  • Must have strong organizational skills and excellent communication skills both orally and written.
  • Driven for success and excel in a fast-growing, dynamic, unstructured work environment. A highly adaptable/flexible personality is preferred.
  • The individual will work in the office space within the Warehouse/Production facility * Well-lit, noisy, shared office area within a production environment
  • The individual may occasionally travel to multiple facilities as necessary.
