What are we looking for?

Currently we are recruiting a Microbiology Analyst II for our Microbiology team based at Toronto.

What would you be doing?

  • Conduct Microbial Limit Testing per USP
  • Approve Media Agar & Reagents
  • Execute environmental monitoring sampling and testing for: air, surfaces, water, equipment and personnel.
  • Conduct sampling using aseptic techniques for laboratory testing: raw materials, bulk and finished products.
  • Perform Microbial Identifications and maintain stock cultures
  • Ensure all testing is documented in the appropriate logbooks and hard copy records are completed in a timely manner
  • Report OOS/OOT results of Microbial Limit Testing and or Environmental Monitoring, raw materials, bulk and finished products to Microbiology Laboratory Manager
  • Follow internal standard operational procedures, participate in lab team meetings and elaborate environmental reports
  • Record data results and observations in an accurate and well-organized manner.
  • Elaborate trending reports
  • Operate Lab equipment (including Environmental Monitoring) and assist in the qualifications, maintenance and calibrations
  • Communicate with Manufacturing sites for Environmental monitoring
  • Liaise and communicate effectively with other members of the Lab and manufacturing team.
  • Participate in Training for Microbiology Analyst I and Lab Environmental Technician
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Awareness and guidelines.
  • Communicate any quality control, maintenance, procedural or operational concerns to the appropriate department in a timely fashion.

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Microbiology or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in microbial limit testing, microbiological sampling and/or environmental monitoring
  • Trend reporting and ability to assess data to provide recommendations for new control limits or improvements is an asset.
  • Excellent communication: verbal and written
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and time management skills
  • Team player, initiative, problem solving.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment
  • Experience in manufacturing sites for cosmetics or pharmaceutical an asset
  • GMP trained and aseptic technique qualifications are an asset.
