Store Manager

Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operations of your store, including achieving sales targets, ensuring profitability and coaching employees. Being held accountable for developing a loyal customer base and ensuring an exceptional client experience in-store.

Can you inspire a team? Do you believe in coaching and development? We are growing very rapidly and need someone who shares this vision and wants to grow with us! Currently we are looking for a Store Manager who can lead by example at our Chicago store location.

What would you be doing?

  • Ensure that all Store Staff Members are consistently delivering the DECIEM client experience and providing the highest level of customer service.
  • Lead by example in educating customers about the world of beauty along with DECIEM products and brands.
  • Set an example in the store for professionalism and teamwork. Develop store staff by coaching, counselling and providing constructive feedback.
  • Meet sales targets and achieve profitability by controlling costs (labour, supplies, inventory, etc.) and communicate within 24 hours of any build-related concerns.
  • Recruiting, training, managing and developing staff; coaching them regularly via coaching forms and bi-annual to annual evaluations. Have a firm succession plan that allows promoting from within.
  • Support HR with hiring decisions, and the corporate retail team in various projects as required.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations, and delegate effectively to meet daily/weekly deadlines of assigned tasks; inventory, merchandising, store cleanliness, stock organization and stock levels with the ASM and make key decisions about stock control.
  • Organize and lead scheduled meetings with the team to review business and plan ahead.
  • Translate store specific opportunities and report data into a clear action plan.
  • Stay up to date (and ensure staff are up to date as well) with product knowledge, company information, new launches, promotions.
  • Support marketing initiatives to drive growth and sales.
  • Work with neighbourhood and district marketing opportunities (with corporate retail team approval) for customer appreciation events.
  • Ensure the store is adequately staffed for proper coverage.
  • Adhere to the Health and Safety Awareness and guidelines.
  • Communicate any quality control, maintenance, procedural or operational concerns to the appropriate department in a timely fashion.

What skills and qualifications do you need?

  • 3 years of management experience in the retail/service industry.
  • Effective time management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Maintaining composure and managerial courage.
  • Effective leader with a focus on training and development.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent, a College/University degree is preferred.
  • Open availability including evenings, weekends and holidays.
